An Infinite God’s Love Makes Broken Lives Whole

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4: 9-10, NIV) Sitting around the table at a Bible study for people rebuilding lives from addiction, homelessness, and prison is a lot of brokenness. But, if we’re honest, in any gathering of people around a table there is much brokenness. The nature of being human is one of falling short of the ideal that we all instinctively understand. The secret to life is realizing we are each broken by sin and discovering the healing power of God’s love. I am convinced the only way to break through the reality of bad decisions and hurtful situations that result from our single–minded focus on the self is to hear God's clarion call that each of us is loved, forgiven and approved.
